ETA: Not forgotten in my thoughts are the others devastated by this accident, of course.

Losing their chance in the World Series just sorta pales with this, doesn't it?

That was absolutely heartbreaking news. I still can't make myself watch the news, for fear I'm going to start crying.

I just can't watch it anymore, either. I've got the music station on, and I'm blaring show tunes for all they're worth. My eyes are swollen, and just when I think I'm all cried out, I gush some more.
