I Knew It Wouldn't Last...

Well, it's been just over a month since I moved in with my kids, and the icon probably says it best.

It's a teensy little rant - not even worthy of a cut tag - and both involve the same kid. Does he think this is easy for me? I mean, I've had a bathroom to myself for over 4 years, and if he can't hold it for five minutes without banging on the wall, then I never trained him right all those years ago. And for crying out loud, I'm 51 frigging years old - I live in my old livingroom, and I have to ask like a beggar to use the bloody phone. I think the little bastard is enjoying his mini power trip just a bit much for my liking.

I do have happy things to write about, just that this got in the way before I could get the words out. I will later, if only to make myself feel better.

We now return you to your normal programming.

I have nothing really philosophical to add, just a few big hugs. I hope things improve because as much as he is concentrating on the fact that you're probably cramping his style, he's absolutely killing yours. Don't worry...Karma can be such a bitch!

Thanks, Megan. I'm sure he'll get it one day. He's such a very young 23 year old. In the meantime, life does go on. **smooches**

Kids are a pain even when it's them living in your home. But they are worth it too.

:hugs you:

Yeah, I remember - it's just being in the SAME home that's rather killer. **loves on you**

I am sorry to hear about this. I had hoped that your moving in would have gone smooth and the transition as well. But I understand just a little. To be on your own to now living with someone is hard. I will just continue to pray that things change for the better.

Sympathies! *Hugs*

If I were you though I'd tell my offspring that, due to my advanced age and feminine plumbing (both usually good for scaring younger males as topics of conversation) interrupting me on the loo breaks my urine flow and then I have to wait extra time for the pee to start up again. Then next time he banged on the bathroom door I'd deliver a running commentary on what I was doing and why - probably making grosser stuff up than was at all true. If nothing else it would relieve my feelings. But then you are a nicer person than I am.

Multi generation living doesn't work perfectly when it is second or third time around - I lived with my Mum for a few months when we first moved back here - and 2 months was OK - but any longer and nerves began to fray. It must be harder to be the Mom living in the offsprings' household by a factor of about 1,000 I would think!

Try telling your son that not being able to hold on for five minutes is not normal for his age - go see his doctor - that should stop him ever, ever commenting on it again!

I can to a certain degree sympathize - I am 45 and live alone - except at weekends when I go to my parents - I do love them ... BUT ... !!!!
So hope that you can keep going - love the icon, by the way - maybe you could give them to my parents then we get our lives back, my mum and dad have someone to "watch" - as for them - I think they loose!!
