A Happy Post With Some Minor Bitching

So, I've been in my new place for a week now. My Verizon line went dead, and the two other jacks are nothing but faceplates put up to disguise... nothing. Waited all day for the cable guy to come and tweak all the rest of my channels and of course, he called the defunct number and said I wasn't home.

And yet, I smile because I DO get the YES network, and the Yankees won a squeaker against Toronto, 5-4. Even better (yes, stop the presses - this actually happened), my eldest graced me with his presence this past Friday/Saturday and even helped me to unpack my kitchen. Not only did I recognize him, but I made fun of all his gray hair. It's good to be a mother again.

Got a prezzie in my email - the following piccie taken today:

Still looking for my computer speakers, and my broken in sneakers. Getting dive bombed at the desk by my fuzzy Juliet kitty, and displaced on my bed by more than 16 pounds of Ringo kitty.

It's Wonderful Being Back In New York!!

They are sweet, aren't they? I can['t wait until the apartment is clean and safe enough for them to visit.

SO, SO pleased that life seems to be taking an upward swing with your move. Also wanted to check how you feel about Ganya. And I guess either you're going to know exactly why I'm asking that or be wondering what the hell I'm talking about. Have a great new life, hon!

At least none of your cats have spent the first six months cowering under the bed like one of ours did...

Thanks, hon. I was really mired in the muck for awhile, and whilst it's not all blood and peaches, it's a lot better now than it's been.

As for Ganya, I see more of a future for it than I ever did for Xanya, so there's no wondering what you're talking about. **grins**

Last move, it took about three weeks for Juliet to come out from behind the couch. Now that they're 13 years old, I guess it just doesn't faze them much. For which I'm glad. I hate to stress them out. *pets my kitties and smooches you*

In that case, I guess the deadline for the next in my series of Ganya ficlets just became the 28th...

Glad it's working out, and those are gorgeous kids.

Not much like kids to bring out the warm fuzzies (exceptionally good, porny fanfic comes close **grins**). Thanks for your kind thoughts.

So glad that New York's looking good for you. And your grandchildren look so cute.

It's the glowy feeling of being home! I could have lived in Vermont for the rest of my life and never felt that way. **huggles the kiddies**

Hate the phone issues, I so can relate at times. Glad the move seems to be agreeing with you and you can be "mom" again. Love the picture....

Soon as I can, I'm cancelling Verizon. No need to pay for service not received. It's so nice to feel happy for a change. There's still a long way to go, but it's looking hopeful, and that's everything when you've hit bottom. Thanks for caring, hon.

I'm doing okay, love. Will be better once I'm done waiting for service people to actually, you know, SERVICE me. Really, I appreciate your kind thoughts and things do seem to be looking up.

So nice to hear that you are getting settled, and the grandchildren are really sweet.

I even found my computer speakers today. 'Course, my sneakers still haven't made an appearance, but I have found twenty years of Star Trek, Disney, and Warner Brothers collectibles. What was I thinking? (Pointedly refusing to even discuss my baseball cards and stamps).

"Stuff has to go," she screams.

Thank you for your kind words, sweetie. Looking forward to the betterness, myself. Seems to be headed in the right direction at the moment, for which I am most grateful.
