Yeah, I started off like a house afire for Fanfic Author Appreciation Week... did two days and then... followthrough died. I feel like utter crappola about it - so many friends and writers to appreciate and I f**ked off.

Then I get this pretty from sailorlum:

I feel like it's all fallen to pieces. I can't write. Can't hardly drabble anymore. I've got two ficathons I'm committed to, and several WIPs and they're all sitting in Word, staring at me and pointing fingers.

Poor muse... I think she's shriveled up and died from neglect. And I just noticed I've not posted a thing in LJ for a week.

would a nice yummy sexy spuffy vid kick your muse into high gear? Every time I can't write, I sit and watch this video and GAH. I worship the girl who made it.

You have my sympathy, empathy and complete understanding. Sometimes it just goes and then who knows when it comes back.

So that's why I was worrying about you. You must be really cranking up the angst if you can project all the way to Ireland! I am sorry you are feeling crap but I refuse to stop appreciating your work nonetheless.

Writing is hard, of whatever sort, and sometimes the muse does wander off, even when (like me) you are just writing non-fiction and don't even have to come up with a plot. If you want to swap angst stories I have an unfinished doctoral thesis of 15 years standing that I am still generating industrial quantites of guilt over even though I know that muse is long, long dead.

Take your muse out for a spin on something fun and write some dirty limericks. I'll give you a start:
'There was a young vampire from Surrey ...'

::comforts you with soft pillows and chocolate::

Sometimes muses need treats to coax them back when they wander off. Never underestimate the power of bribery. ::sneaks you some more chocolate for muse::
