I've had to make another stab at throwing away auctioning off more of my possessions. Please, folks... take a look at these auctions, and if anything appeals to you - go for it!

My lease is not being renewed at the end of this month, and I have to move again. My sons are taking me in (miracles of miracles), but I'll be living in the livingroom, since neither one will give up their bedroom. After all, they're the ones paying for the apartment, but it's better than a women's shelter.

What this means is there is no room for my 'stuff'. I'll be posting pics of other things I need to get rid of that maybe my NY friends would be willing to come and get/make me an offer on.

I'd appreciate anything at this point.

Also, I'm looking for a home for my two furry babies. Juliet and Ringo - 14 year old littermates who're neutered, declawed and have been housecats since I brought them home from North Shore Animal Shelter as 6 week old kittens.

If I didn't have to give them up, I wouldn't. Unfortunately, my eldest can't deal with the fur since his two lung surgeries. My deadline for moving is July 31st.

**sighs** Thanks for listening, everyone.

*hug* I'm so sorry. I would totally love to take in your babies if I was *anywhere* near the NY area (and if I wasn't already worried that my future roommate is going to be annoyed by the two cats I already have).

Oh, Andrea, you are in my thoughts. Please keep us updated as to what's going on.

Some people don't like virtual hugs, but I'm gonna go ahead and send some your way...

I'm sorry to hear that, pet. I've been there myself.

After divorcing spouse numero uno, the older two Linnit sprogs and I moved from place to place, sometimes homeless shelters, once or twice batered wives homes (doesn't that sound bad, 'battered wives home'?), always trying to keep one step ahead of my ex. Sadly, over the three years of moving around I lost everything. Then along came SpouseLinnit, a knight in shining armour.

I'm sure living with the boys will prove valuable. Three to take turns cooking and washing, for a start! And hopefully, it'll be an opportunity to save toward a deposit on a new place - well, they on't expect you to cook for nothing, will they? ;p

I don't suppose there's anyone who'd foster your cats until you get another place, is there?

The kitties' fates are the sore point in all of this... worse than living in my children's livingroom. I'm still checking out options for them and am trying to be hopeful.

I am so sorry you have to give up your kitties. is there anyway you can just get them *babysat* until you can have them again? Or maybe to a friend so you can still see them?

Looking at all options. Either friends have their own cats, or are allergic. **sighs** Still, hopeful things will work out.

Would any of the cat-owning friends be willing to just temporarily house two elderly cats in their bathroom, if they don't want your kitties mixing with theirs? Understandably, they wouldn't want the inevitable chases and fights that occur between cats who don't know each other, but surely two old, slow cats separated from theirs by a bathroom/bedroom door for a week or two wouldn't be too much of a headache.

At any rate, I rattled off all the other options I could think of and stuck 'em in a post below. My fingers and toes are crossed for you!

If I lived anywhere near NY, I would talk my mom into it and we'd take the kitties. As it is, all I can do is pray and send out good thoughts and my sincere hope that everything works out for the kitties and for you!

Hi, spikes_heart; hesadevil told me about your plight. If I were anywhere near New York, I'd be happy to take care of your cats -- unfortunately, I'm far away in Texas. I'm trying to think of any avenues you could explore to find a temporary or permanent home for them, though.

Be sure to check with the local animal shelters, Humane Society, and SPCA, as well as all the veterinarian clinics you can find. Many of the vet clinics have bulletin boards where you could post about your cats. Besides putting up your own ad, check all the notes from other clients -- you might find some kind-sounding soul there, and you could give him/her a call to see if they'd take in your kitties.

Also, call the zoos in your area and ask if they can give you the phone number(s) of any local wildlife rehabilitators (people who are licensed to care for injured/ill/orphaned wild animals.) Rehabers and zookeepers are often very compassionate animal lovers, and one of them may be able to help you find lodging for your cats. Call all your area petshops and dog groomers.

Call ANY organization you can find in your phone book that seems to be based on compassion and aid for the community: churches, temples, Girl and Boy Scouts, 4H, YMCA...heck, try the fire department! Call their non-emergency phone number and tell whoever answers, "You guys are famous for rescuing cats out of trees, so I wonder if any of you would be willing to rescue my cats who are up a creek without a paddle."

*hugs you* I wish I could help, sweetie, but unfortunately I'm a bit too far away! Sending lots of positive vibes and good wishes your way. I hope you find good homes for them.
